The Dell Inspiron 1525 is a super star. Why is that so? This laptop is indeed a top seller, because it combines design, functionality and price all into one solid machine. I find that Dell Inspiron laptops typically have very good build for their price point, and they are getting better over the years. The Dell Inspiron 1525 is one good machine and certainly something to consider if you’re on a budget.

Thinkpad X61
Another top selling laptop has got to be the ultraportable Thinkpad X61. I personally use the X61 and can vouch for its performance, portability and durability. The only downside is perhaps the slightly higher price. The fact that it does not have a built-in DVD drive (it comes with an external DVD USB drive) is also a deal-breaker for some. However, this laptop still rates very highly on my list.

Apple iBook
Those looking for something different tend to go with Apple products, and its no exception in the laptop world. The Apple iBook is a good solid machine constructed from lightweight magnesium and comes installed with MacOS X. Very suitable for creative professional or those folks just looking to do simple tasks like word processing, email or web surfing.
Take note that the Apple has just launched the ultralight Apple MacBook Air. So you do want to look at that model if you’re headed in Apple’s direction.
