Demand for wider screen laptop has never been higher. Hence, several manufacturers have in recent years introduced laptops that feature nineteen inch display screens. We will take a look at one such model here - the Samsung M70 - which, in my opinion, is the best 19-inch laptop out there right now.
 

The Samsung M70 19-inch laptop

What's the Samsung M70 like? Well, it has a 19-inch screen obviously. It also comes with a decent (but not top-end) processor - the Pentium M Processor, running at 2.0GHz. We also see 1 GB RAM stocked into the model. I think that level of computing power is not sufficient for today's computing requirements, given the huge demand on graphics and multitasking activities on a PC. However, you definitely have the option to upgrade if you feel the base unit does not meet your requirements.

The Samsung M70's 19-inch display allows you to render high resolution images of up to 1,680 x 1,050 in size. It also comes with a DVI interface port (which means you can connect this laptop to the TV easily). The colors on the screen are vibrant and come out quite well in bright sunlight - a nice touch. It also has a 10 milliseconds response time, a 600:1 contrast, in addition to a brightness and depth of shade of 280 cd/m.

Now, you'd think that with a huge 19-inch display, the Samsung M70 would weigh quite a bit. However, the nice surprise is that it weighs only 6.6 pounds, which is the weight of many smaller 17-inch models. I think that is a smart decision by the designers, since no one would want to pay for a large screen but have an increase of say, 2 pounds in weight.

5. Is It The Best?

Well, for the moment, I'd say that the Samsung M70 is the best 19-inch laptop in the market. Until its competitors come up with 19-inch models that are faster, lighter and perhaps more attractive in design, the M70 will rule. The price tag leaves much to be desired though - but that is something you'd expect from a new technology in the market.
