You and everyone else would think and expect that after all these inquiries you would be educated, knowledgeable and savvy enough to know which laptop would work best for you but you do not.

As a matter of fact you are more confused then ever and it seems that all the time and the energy that you spend on research have been a complete and utter waste.

I know how frustrating this must all be to you but please do not be hard on yourself because, when it comes to laptop computers, we are all in the same club of the puzzled and the bemused. Welcome! Shopping for a laptop is indeed a very complex process and it is becoming more and more difficult with the introduction of new models featuring high tech innovations and novel new gadgets.

Here's something about laptop recommendations you should know about. I have always been told that for accurate comparison, apples should only be compared to apples while oranges should only be compared to oranges. That is true for any kind of comparisons including comparative shopping.

You have probably been told the same, am I correct? Well, when it comes to comparing laptops each one is a different “fruit” (please forgive the analogy) which makes comparing most difficult if not completely impossible. In other words, when shopping for laptops you are forced to compare the apples to the oranges that you have always been warned against doing.

Since each laptop on the market today is so different from any other and since they all have umpteen complex and very different components, I recommend that you do not even attempt to compare laptops.

The best laptop recommendation is that which suits your personal needs. What you should be comparing or rather matching is your set of requirements and personal preferences against the features and attributes of each laptop. Be cautioned, however! You will never find a laptop that will complement you perfectly and, sorry, you will have to make a few concessions. Think of it as a relationship which it really is — never perfect but close enough to be willing to compromise.

For whatever it is worth, here is a set of my personal laptop recommendations:

1. Always buy the most powerful (big hard drive, plenty of RAM, duo processor), the smallest and the lightest laptop you can afford.
2. Repairing laptops is very expensive. Always buy an extended warrantee for parts and labor of your laptop.
3. Be sure that the laptop which you buy to accommodate today’s needs is upgradeable enough to accommodate tomorrow’s potential needs.
4. Batteries are the main power sources of laptops so make sure that yours is long lasting.
