1. A Cooling Pad One thing about laptops - they get pretty after sitting on your lap for some time. A good idea is to invest in a laptop cooling pad. These run on AA batteries or are powered by a USB connection. The in-built fans will channel away heat to keep your laptop happy and cool.

One thing you will hate about your laptop keyboard is its ability to attract all manner of bread crumbs, potato chip bits, dirt and what-have-you. Having a mini-vac will allow you to suck up the gunk that sits on the keyboard and the little corners of your laptop. 3. A USB Lamp I've been wanting to buy me one of these (but my wife says its a waste of money). The truth is, I think a USB lamp is a neat idea. Some laptops have in-built LEDs to illuminate the keyboard. Others don't. So for those who have to grapple with the keyboard in the dark, invest in a USB lamp.
4. A Full-Sized Keyboard I personally wouldn't go for it, but a number of my laptop-toting friends invest in full-sized keyboards to plug into their existing laptop USB port. Some other folks simply choose a USB numeric keypad if they don't need all the keys on the keyboard. It's an interesting investment, if you are more comfortable working with large keys. 5. External Mouse Oh boy, this one is a must. You must have an external mouse with your laptop. The trackball or touchpad on a laptop is seldom accurate enough to allow you to move pixel by pixel in the laptop. So be sure you invest in a good laptop mouse for fine control.
6. A Theft Prevention System Whether you idea of a theft prevention system is a simple cable lock, a notebook alarm or a heavy-duty industrial strength motion-sensing system, make sure you have such a system in place. The last you want is to have your precious laptop stolen under your nose. 7. A Spare Battery A spare battery is critical if you're often on the road and do not have access to power outlets. Typically, if I'm sitting in a Starbucks typing on my laptop, I like to have an extra, full-charged battery with me so I don't have to worry about stealing power from the cafe's power sockets. Conclusions Well, I hope this article has shown you the best gadgets to add to your laptop. Granted, you won't be needing all of these things, but having them can help you enjoy and protect your laptop even better. So do check them out.
