5 Tools For Monitoring
Your Laptop Temperature

If you’re not concerned about your laptop temperature, then you certainly should be. Laptops have been known to overheat because they are pushed to their limits.

I've found that many laptop gamers push their system to limits.

You must be careful of laptop temperature – fortunately, there is some great software available for monitoring temperature.

In this article, we'll take a look at some of them - SpeedFan, Intel Active Monitor as well as Notebook Hardware Control, Mobile Meter and Core Temp. Read on and check them out.

1. SpeedFan

The first good tool for monitoring your laptop temperature is called SpeedFan. This very popular computer temperature monitoring tool works for both laptops and desktops. It allows you to access digital temperature sensors, and also checks voltages, fan speeds and temperatures. A very solid tool which you can download here.

2. Intel® Active Monitor

The next tool for monitoring your laptop temperature is called the Intel® Active Monitor. This tool is available for free and can be downloaded here. It is essentially an alerting utility created by Intel and can be used only for Intel laptop motherboards.

3. Notebook Hardware Control

Notebook Hardware Control is a program that makes monitoring your laptop temperature a snap. Using it, you can control the hardware and system power management of your laptop. You can also customize the laptop based on the open source ACPI Control System. By tweaking the power options made available, you can also extend your laptop’s battery lifetime.

4. Mobile Meter

Mobile Meter is a small utility, only 41kb in size. It is great for monitoring your laptop temperature and has a very small footprint in your laptop. A great basic tool for temperature checking.

5. Core Temp

Another freeware is called Core Temp and it is very simple to use for monitoring your laptop temperature. You can use this for checking up the temperature of your laptop while leaving only a very small footprint on system memory.

Conclusion

As laptops get used and pushed to their limits, their temperature can also run out of control. You need to monitor laptop temperature carefully – and this can be done with the software programs mentioned above. Make sure you download some of them to try them out – having your laptop overheat is not exactly something you’d be happy to experience.
